Safe Housing

Balcony is Cooper's most fav spot.He loves to just lay down there, get relax, watching people or things around him....so cute how he lays down,my husband says it's like crocodile with 4 legs open and spread, head down under the balcony fence...looks like he spies...

We often say,he's like a king-looking down to his kingdom from above-the balcony HaHaHaHa...

He feels so comfy there,he usually spends hours and hours esp if the wheather is nice and cool-in winter-or in summer,he just spends there in the morning only since it gets hotter and hotter daytime,so afterward he just likes to lay down inside with airconditioning on.

Safe Housing

Curios dog-esp Husky from nature-get often into trouble nit because they are bad but simply they just want to investigate things around them.Having dog is just like having Kid,we always need to be carefull and keep dangerous household away.So it's our responsibility and job to protect them.

There are somethings u should pay attention in garage like antifreeze, garden supplies, pesticides, fertilizers, mouse and rat poisons. And some in the house too like cleaners,perfumes,vitamin-medications,craft supplies, electric cord, bones, chocolate(poison for dogs)onion, and garden plants like ivy,oleander-poinnsettia.

If your dog loves to spend much outdoor activities, enclosed chain-link dog kennel run with a roof is ideal for your house.

Dogs, esp Husky loves to dig alot,he loves freedom, running and escape-so be carefull!never ever underestimate Husky's digging abbilities-he is a real escape artist. So get a backyard with a fence that stands minimum 6 feet high and dont forget to anchor your fence deeply into the ground plus never let any even small hole beneath the fence available!

My Tail,My Shadow

Wherever i'm,there he's-in bathroom,kitchen,bedroom,on bed,balcony,in front of laptop,living room,dining room....Yes,Cooper is my true soulmate!
It's so cute being followed all the time, just like having a real baby...i mean human baby...
My husband often says he's exactly my shadow and tail...HaHaHa cute, isnt it!
Not only that,he likes to join our family activities also like dinner(always sitting pretty beside the dining table hoping for dropped table food HaHaHa),watching tv,snack time, chit chat or even just relaxing on the bed...never ever want to miss those!(FYI,he is now sleeping beside my chair.....ooohh so adorable!)

Their very social natures really demand attention and most will push their way into every family activity. It could be a negative side if an owner can't do so.So before owning any kind of breed, knowing all the character first-before it's too late!

Siberian's Genuine Love Of Family

Yeah, the Siberian Husky's life is family.Everyone is his family, that is the trouble for owning him as a watchdog-guard dog,he isn't born at all for that purpose. So,dont consider Siberian Husky as Watchdog-Guarddog-thats totally wrong!Although Siberians are independent souls, their genetic code mandates an affinity for human. They are profoundly devoted to their families and to virtually everyone else they happen to encounter.

Eventough he has perfect appearance as watch dog-big size, strong muscle, wolfy appearances, cold eyes may be a appearance to would be attackers. But inside-they are a bunny. He wants to be friends with everyone and all his friends are a family.Of course he'll watch anyone who comes into the home and then show them where to find the valuables---and all with the innocent Siberian smile!

Teething and Chewing

Yeah...Mr Penguin is Cooper's most fav toy...we dont know why,he's so crazy about that toy,he keeps chewing and chewing it most nights...don't ask the smell....oooowww yeah stink!stink!stink!...we cant wash it because he'd get mad.He loves this stinky toy so bad.
We sometimes think maybe because the colour is exactly the same as his(except the pink winter hat HaHaHa)...so he kinda thinks(might be)he's the penguin...HaHaHa

Cooper is almost 7years old now(right on 18th October'09) but he still acts like a puppy. He still loves to chew his toy.Well the need to chew will remain as the dog matures.

Chewing can be fatal for the dog should ever bite on an electric cord or poisonous plants,as dogs often attracted to them by the smell or appearance. But thanks God,he is smart enough to not doing that.

Teething and Chewing are the main problem esp when u just got a puppy no matter what breed. So owners should be aware and prepare for it.
There is no simple, foolproof method exists to stop dog from chewing. The best course is prevention.Give the dog a supply of suitable chew objects and let it know exactly what MAY and MAY NOT be chewed. If you catch the dog with a forbidden object in its mouth, remove it immediately from the dog's clutches, shake it in front of the dog's head and tap it as you say NO! in a stern voice. If it happens again, add a quick nonviolent shake of the neck to your connection to shock the dog not injure it.Replace the forbidden object with something the dog is allowed to chew.
While the dog is teething it will need to chew. The need to chew will continue even after the first teeth are shed.Confine the dog when it can't be supervised and here we go,it's the time chew toy plays the role.Always supply your dog with suitable chew toy!

The History of Siberian Husky

Siberian Husky also known as the Chukchi dog

For more than 1000 years ago a tribe of people known as the Chukchi have inhabited the Arctic coastal region of northern Siberia. It's the land where the winter extremely cold,it makes life a daily challenge for surviving. And there, the Chukchi dog, which is now wellknown as Siberian Husky, was developed.

Over many generations of breeding, the chukchi developed the breed of dog most to suit their needs. As the chukchi worked along the coast hunting the seal as their main food resource, they needed large dogs usable of pulling great weight. At the same time, they needed a dog capable for the low temperatures surviving, pulling load quickly over long distances but expend less energy in process. The less energy the dog used, the more chance it had to survive in the wheather.

They had to be hard worker and had common sense to work in team, dedicated to keep from constantly tangling themselves in the lines of the sled. So,this is the idea of Siberian Husky as sled dog, came from.Siberian Huskies have been trained as Sled Dogs for so many years.

The chukchi used the dog not only as sled dog,but they took them home as guardian for their possesions, family and also as companions. That's what makes Siberian Husky is so gentle in personality.

The most important trait from this dog was the instinct and desire to run endlessly. It could run so far and fast but unfortunately, couldn't pull so much weight. Therefore, the teams up to 20dogs are needed to pull the hunter's loads.

The fate of chukchi dog and the birth of Siberian Husky breed are tied to several historical events,in Russia. In 18th century where the Russian cossacks began a march across Siberia to conquer new land and attain all of the resources. Most people living in this northern area were primitive tribe, who couldn't fight and couldn't compete the Russian Army weapon,Even they couldn't fight, they could run and their sled dogs always kept them ahead of Russian Military Forces and more advantage was, they could survive in the Siberian wheather but not the russian soldiers which finally they suffered great losses.

The chukchi people and their dogs existed peacebly in Siberia for many years after this conflict.Conflict wasn't end-in the early 19th century when the monarchy in Russia replaced by communist regime, which didnt alow the 'burgeois' and elite aspect of russian life exist.Chukchi dog as finest dog bred by the chukchi, was assumed as symbol of wealth and leadership position. And the chukchi, themself were either imprisoned or killed. This made the chukchi dog dissapeared from Siberia.

By the end of 19th century, the chukchi dog has been discovered by alaskan traders, which then imported to the northwest territory and renamed the Siberian Husky. This importation is a proof of how important to the survival of the breed.

Cooper's Vacation

Hey look buddy!these are all my stuffs for vacation, momma has prepared all my fav stuffs in there.....hmmmmmm yeah my penguin towel, toys, vitamins and of course my fav snack yummmmmmm!Daddy and mommy took me to the Pet Lodge for 2 days...oh YES,i love it there...meeting new buddies and new hot girls of course ehmmmm ehmmmm, new awesome place...massage...bathing...and my fav one-meni pedi.Yes!Yes!Yes!

Siberian Huskies love companionship and they dont like to stay home alone. They really enjoy new atmosphere, situatations, sights and sounds. If u travel by car, there are some tips u should pay attention for:

1.They always should be placed on the back seat.

2.The car windows should be opened approximately 2inches/5cm to improve air circulation during the travel

3.Never allow them to hang head out the window while the car is in motion which can cause eye,ear and throat injuries.

4.Never leave the dog alone in a parked car during the heat of the day.

5.If the trip lasts for more than 1 hour, never feed the dog 4-6 hours before leaving, full belly can lead to motion sickness.

6.If its long trip, stop every 2 hours or so and let them relieve, have a drink or do some exercise.

7.Dont forget to keep them on leash during the stops.

That's all and hope it helps....Have nice vacation,Buddy!
